The mentor for four consecutive years of Matanzas team and who has led this team to the stellar levels of Cuban baseball,Victor Mesa from Villa Clara, has said he will continue fighting to stay in first place for the 54th National Baseball Series, even if it means a disadvantage when asking for reinforcements.

It is precisely this town, which is located along the Via Blanca and is the most likely path for vehicles traveling from Havana to Varadero, in the hurry walking of goods or mostly foreign visitors . In addition to its strategic position, the sea seems to be a privilege with a singular beauty, in harmonious contrast between that ancient people who came from it and the modern constructions that today renew it.

During my journalistic adventures in the City of the Bridges I conducted a poll on José White Concert Hall , for Matanzas simply known as Sala White. And what worried me most of the time , as media professional and faithful lover of the history of my small city , were not exactly nostalgic criteria of respondents by their absence from the Matanzas cultural landscape for more than a decade , but total ignorance of its existence among the most recent generations.

A hard mission to fulfill for any Cuban is to outline the life of José Martí. His life was brief. He lived only 42 years old, 19 of them in the country and had intervals that placed him in other geographical areas . Havana was best known for it, but was in Isle of Pines , now Isla de la Juventud, and fields of Hanábana Caimito , in the present province of Matanzas.
