Machado Ventura checks investments in Matanzas agriculture and harvest preparation

The second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, José Ramón Machado Ventura, checked the progress of the investment program in the agriculture sector whose amount exceeds this year 46 million pesos in total currency.

The also Commander of the Revolution accompanied by the first secretary of the PCC provincial committee, Livan Izquierdo Alonso and the president of the provincial Assembly of Popular Power, Tania León Silveira, urged to prioritize investments because of their impact on the growth of the gross domestic product of the country.

In addition, it was explained about the recovery and increase of capacities in warehouses of raw materials, feed factories and refrigerated metal silos.

A more efficient harvest.

The second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, José Ramón Machado Ventura insisted in Matanzas that this harvest has to be efficient because that is what the coming ones depend on.

During the indicator check, the partisan leader recalled the Cuban economic context and the need to produce sugar efficiently in the 2019-2020 contest.

The harvest will start in the province through the central Mario Muñoz, in the municipality of Los Arabos, on the first of December and on the tenth the Jesús Rabí will be incorporated, in Calimete, and the Colombian ingenuity will grind in January.

Ricardo Sánchez Calero, director of the Matanzas Sugar Company, informed that more than one million tons of cane will be taken to the industries, although this time the raw material left from the previous campaign is less.
