The dancer and choreographer José Ángel Carret has been representing our country for 14 years through the Matanzas branch of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in Canada, however each year he returns and dedicates his break time to offer his knowledge in social benefit.

«It is a commitment that I have as a member of the UNEAC and Cuban that I am to share my experiences with the dancers here, mainly with the students who attend the artistic education in Matanzas, which can definitely enrich their future career.»

For the eighth time the teacher will hold the Open Space Season for Dance and the Show, TEADE 2019, (from July 7th to 14th), which assaults the city with the imprint of the dance and its various techniques and trends.

«This edition has among its novelties the wide presence of international dance masters who will teach Hip Hop, African dances, the Durham technique, jazz and contemporary ballet, among others.

«It will be a different year, because in addition to the professionals from Matanzas, we will have teachers from the company Danza Libre, from Guantanamo. «In addition, the people will be able to enjoy the galas and alternative spaces that the season of the Ballet Creole Company of Canada will have.»

Carret commented that the well-known space Night of the candles will be kept each year in the social house of the UNEAC; activities aimed at children, in the Plaza de la Vigia, as well as the opening gala scheduled for next Monday at the Velasco Theater.

Little need for the dancer to celebrate 30 years of artistic life and still develops his work at the head of the company Dance Corpus, now with the inclusion of living statues, while teaching in Canada and in recent years has collaborated with his teaching and choreographic creation with one of the universities of North Carolina, in the United States.

Every July, and as part of the summer, Carret arrives at his Matanzas, a place of his own for his artistic and professional growth, to offer this space that brings together dancers from different areas of the country, as well as students from the Alfonso Art Vocational School Pérez Isaac and amateurs of dance to perfect the technique and delve deeper into the world of this manifestation.
